if you want to stick with the b7 block, you're going to have to switch to a d16z6 or z6 crank... or any other D series 1.6 crank for that matter.

Spood doesn't want to have to notch, cause I'm sure he/we won't pull the engine when he/we do it. If you want to sit with an engine above your face and have metal shavings drop down on you, be my guest, but that's not my idea of fun. And I have yet to hear or aftermarket rods for a D that don't require notching...
