Thermal is a good company, but their exhausts tend to be loud. The new Apex'i exhausts look pretty cool, as do some of the exhausts that flow back into themselves (Mugen knockoffs).
A semi-ghetto setup that I personally like a lot is the custom pipe/supertrapp. It's ghetto in that it looks funky and those on the street might scoff. On the track though, I haven't heard a better sounding exhaust (my buddy ran this setup on a GenII GS).
Personally, I'm running a JDM ITR manifold and a Type1 Racing cat, B-pipe, and muffler. It's loud and has good performance, sounds great at idle, throws CEL's all the time, and set me back less than a grand for the whole thing with shipping.
