I haven't used the combo, but I used to autocross on Tokiko Illumina shocks... they were pretty good--more than adaquate for a novice driver. The damping is pretty good, and adjustability is so-so... Maybe I'm just jaded. I've been on Konis for a while now h:

:edit: if you're new to autocross, the adjustability doesn't matter. You'll need put major effort into your driving technique before you start to worry about equipment. I'd just set them at 1 or 2 front (soft), and 5 rear (hardest), and forget about it.
