One thing I noticed in your post though is the degree of brutality you are capable of.
You say you are unable to hit a fish over the head when you go fishing. So instead of putting it out quickly and "humanely" you let it suffocate instead
You see what I am getting at here? you are al for the killing and eating of the fish but you will allow it to suffer to a degree instead of just putting it out.
Not trying to flame but just trying to make a point on the degree with which we can justify our own actions

in all seriousness, i know what you mean. Im willing to eat the food that another person will take the time to kill, i just dont want to kill it. Selfish and lazy? maybe, but thats how i was brought up. never been hunting, never any stories about my dad or grandpas hunting, and i dont plan on going either.
more than likely when i go fishing, i never keep any because i dont care too much for fish (unless its smoked salmon that grandma caught)
