The minute I took those ES trailing arm bushings out and put in the Mugen ones, it was NIGHT and DAY different (in a good way).

Interesting. Lack of movement I guess is there.

When I had my hatch. I noticed nothing out of the ordinary, but I was running insane rear spring rates. I had poly bushings all around. I was very happy with the upgrade. My suspension tended to remain loaded jacked up and on the ground.

One thing I've noticed is there really is not "bad" suspension setup. A lot of people have a lot of different setups, many of 'em are happy with it.

I think I'd probably go with spherical beraings (if available) for my hatch, if not I'd do a prothane kit. I don't see me forking over $ for more rubber. That's just me.
