So yesterday i took my stock pcv valve out and shook it to see if it made noise, and low and behold, it only made noise if i shook it really hard. I replaced it with a 3 dollar one from Kragen.
my questions are:

1. Can this really be the cause of my abnormal oil consumption (1 qt every 1200-1500)?

2. I dont have any leaking valve cover/spark plug gaskets, so does this mean my valve cover area underneath isnt under that much pressure?

3. How is it that a stuck PCV valve can cause the area under the valve cover to become pressurized, even with a vent that goes to your intake pipe?
