true, but you still can't get the entire band...for example, out of the stations I listen to, one is 92.3, the other is 107.7 - even with the converter you can't get those.

That converter is pretty damn cool though - I've never heard of such a thing. I know of someone who can get the really high end stuff from japan....like the Carrozzeria units that put the P9 combo to shame. There's also the stuff from Sound Monitor, Nakamichi, Denon, etc.

What's truely pathetic, is that even the low end alpine headunits have a Toslink out in Japan. Here, you can only get it on the DVD players (D901 and 7996). A Japanese spec 98XX would work perfectly with an H700 - but in the US you have to setup way up.

But there's still the nagging FM/AM problem!
