Because of this Acura has issued a longer warranty for the transmission (the 5AT) for a seven year period. I don't know of any other significant reliability problem. Don't forget the % of cars with the tranny problem is very very small.
For now, but they'll all eventually go. Our local Acura dealership does about 1 tranny per week on TL's, about 1 per month on MDX's.
