Hiyas,
I can see the point of both sides on the LS/Vtec. I've seen LS/Vtec's that smoke badly and leak oil as the result of improper drilling for the dowels. I've seen the wrong size of lines ran etc. etc. I personally lean toward the LS/Vtec prop because I have one in the build proccess. I can tell you dollar for dollar that my build has been cheaper going the LS/Vtec route. I say this because I shopped around and found better deals buying the b18b block and the b16 head cheaper, tranny, etc than buying a whole running swap. I am building for boost, so yea I replaced alot of stuff. I guess if your going for just a stock engine, then yeah buy the whole swap. If you want to make some serious HP and have the money and know how go LS/Vtec, as you can get the base stuff cheaper and then add the goodies... But all in all you spend a crap ton of money either way lol *imho*
