18 isn't extreme it is actually within factory specs.

18 degrees also won't always make more power. It woudl need to be dyno tested to be sure. There is a chance 16 degrees and 18 degrees will make the same power and one is just more advanced. No need for advanced timing that doesn't make power. Just means it is more likely to ping.
