I believe it is a smaller battery than the GSR model... it's not located in the same place for sure. As far as Grillcraft, they are the best OEM-fit grill kits I've ever seen and I used to have one on my 2001 Eclipse GT that I had before the R. It requires drilling to install (they're held in place with screws) but they are extremely sturdy and don't bend with rock impacts (although the paint will chip so I'd stick with getting silver).

But I wouldn't put one on a Type R since bling-bling show is not the car's purpose. Any show mod that I might do to the car would have to be able to bolt off and a Grillcraft kit is not that.
