well, getting into the 13's on motor is going to cost you way more than a grand, though, if you're willing to sacrifice and be careful with it, and no, I'm not a big fan, you can get into the 13's no problem on like a 70 shot and still be pretty safe, just make sure you run it 70 wet....

Any way, as far as all motor parts go, for a grand, I'd start with some say skunk2 stage one cams and some cam gears, which actually, you pretty much just ran out of money on that alone if you include install But that by itself will be a pretty good difference. If you could get some sort of Vtec controller to smooth out the dip, it would be also very beneficial.

That's a good starting point iif you dont want to go really over kill.
