Sorry, I thought it was obvious. The friction surface and mounting surface are two different heights. So if you machine let's say .003" off the friction surface, you have to take that much off the mounting surface. By mounting surface, I mean the surface that the pressure plate mounts on. Most competent shops can do this, no problem.
