Hi. I have been following this forum for a while, but finally got own my Type R! Awesome car. My previous cars include modded TT Rx7, IrocZ Camaro, and a few othr daily drivers-My current daily driver is an old Legend Coupe. The Type R is more fun to drive than all of them, incl. the RX7, and I hope it will be more reliable too :?
Car is stock except for AEM CAI, and the prev. owner even removed the front right turn signal to have more air come in.
After reading these threads about water sucked into the engine, I am seriously considering reinstalling the stock air box. I don't really mind the loud noise when VTEC kicks in, but it seemed too big of a risk for the minimal HP gains, esp in Chicago weather. BUT, I don't even know where to START on reinstalling it. Is there a thread or page on (un)installing the AEM intake?
Also, when i drop the clutch from start, say at 5k rpm, the car tends to steer to the right for a few seconds until it finds grip. But the car goes fine & straight once I am in 2nd, 3rd or fourth gear. Had the acura dealer checked the LSd and road test it during my last service, the said it's fine. Had new Falkens installed about a month ago, but the dealershould have alingned my wheels during the last service. Anyone has any clues?
Thanks in advance..hope I won't regret getting this car.
