that's right, do you have a cell light? if so, then you've got crossed sensors somewhere. how about fuel? will the stock fuel pump feed a b16 without probs? how many miles were on the motor? a couple of people i know had that problem, I pulled off that sensor behind the intake manifold that has the 2 coolant lines running trhough it (i thinks its a IAVC or EAVC sensor) and cleaned it / the screen and the insides of it with carb cleaner. thats it or that could be your problem..... your idle air control valve, it allows your car to idle properly when your foot isnt on the gas peddle, even when it means slowing down. clean that thing with carb cleaner and give it a shot. like i said a couple of people brought that problem to me and their idle air control valve was mis behaiving (one guy had a crossed sensor with that valve).
