TPS sensors make idling rpms sort of vary, in other words, the car won't hold at a particular RPM when idling and jumps all over the place. The only way to test it is to pull off the connection and measure the resistances between a positive lead and some other port or pin and compare that to factory specs. Sorry my friend, unless someone on here is kind enough to post a diagram or give you a schematic, you pretty much have to go buy the Helm's manual. Even AllData is somewhat limiting in its info, and no matter what the factory manual is the best! My guess is check your belt tensions (might be a solution to the RPM draw when the lights turn on as perhaps it's too loose over the alternator), make sure no vaccum leaks (especially when you say that the RPMs go up when you press the brake, means because the booster draws a lot of vaccum, something is leaking out through one of the lines), and try visiting the parts department of a dealer to get a diagram or a getto way of doing this is looking on Honda Auto Part's Diagrams and sort of guessing where everything might be located based on that.

Something else comes to mind too, I don't know anything really about trannies (perhaps in a year), but could there be variations in the computers from auto to manual, not the ECU, but some sort of computer for that stuff?
