BTW, the JUN III cams would be my first choice now following your advise, in this case, would i need to alter the ECU/Chip...i already have an aftermarket chip in the GSR ECU plus the APEXi VAFC Controller...is this sufficient?...would i need to change the pistons?..if so, what would be the best and cost effective..some advice me on either the H22A or accord pistons...your advice is greatly appreciated ...thanks again...
So your exhaust bolts directly to the header? I'm a bit confused here. Basically you want something with piping that is somewhere in the range of 63 to 65 mm inner diameter. As long as that's the case you're fine.
The VAFC should be reasonably sufficient to tune for the cams. You will see the best results of course, by having it tuned on a dyno. You can also see some gains by using adjustable cam gears and dialing in their timing.
You don't necessarily need to change the pistons but if you are looking to bump up the compression ratio that is a possibility. H22 pistons won't fit though since they are designed for an 87 mm bore and Accord pistons (assuming you are talking F22 or F23) probably won't work either although I don't know their specs off hand.
For now I'd stay with modifying the top end of the motor and see what your results are.
