Well without getting into the debate of whether or not backpressure really is required...
I just did it for the looks...some may say that's rice or whatever...I just like the way the duals look on the TL's and AV6's, so I did it. I think a couple OEM Acura mufflers look less ricey than some of the huge aftermarket single muffler systems. The stock bent pipe doesn't do it for me, and the aftermarket ones for 6th gens hang too low and stick out too much for me.
I may have lost a bit of low end torque...but it may just be my imagination. One thing is for sure...if there was any change...it was slight enough that I can't say for sure if there was a change.
Bottom line...it's a cosmetic mod and you can probably buy/make a better performing single muffler system.
A better pic:

It does look pretty sweet, don't worry I'm not hatin'. I was just kinda puzzled when I read somewhere that you had a 4 and then I saw the pipe going over to the other side in this pic, at first I thought it was some kind crazy strut bar or something.

How does it sound? I was thinking today maybe theres some way you could hook up something that would seal the extra pipe until a certain RPM. I read thats whats on the AV6 models also I think they put it on S4's, probably a lot more things too.
