no, they're doing what the market dictates; they engineer for profit. At least they aren't forced to do what Hoover does, build vacuum cleaners out of plastic and have them break, so they can be replaced by a shiny new hoover vacuum cleaner. They can easily build quality cars overseas i.e the new Holden/GTO...
