I don't eat in lots of sit down restaurants, but when I do I usually make sure it's at least 15% unless I had some kind of problem with the service. I do order a lot of delivery though and since those are usually pretty small checks (like 15 to 20 bucks) I make sure I throw down like 3 or 4 bucks. Especially for the delivery dude from this one chinese place that I order from all the time--it's always the same dude. :chuckles:

When I'm in a bar I always throw down a dollar per drink that I order. Tips means "to insure prompt service" and in a crowded ass bar it's definitely true. If I've been tipping a buck a drink I get served faster than the guy who's with his buddies and the bartender just knows is going to order like five drinks rapid-fire and drop down a buck or two at best. Plus at this one bar near campus that I go to the bartenders are friends of mine from freshman year so I tip them a lot and they hook me up with really cheap drinks and of course, better service.
