If you want loud, try a '92-'93 GSR. They got a lot more refined starting in '94.

It's all relative. The Prelude is a heavier car with more sound damping materials and has a bigger engine with longer gearing so it doesn't rev as high.

In either case you will discover it's hard to find a GSR or Prelude VTEC because they are kind of rare and the slower versions of the cars were produced in huge numbers. All '97-'01 Preludes have the VTEC engine but they most likely won't be in your price range. Not to discourage you of course, just be aware it'll take a bit of effort.

Best thing to do is go test drive examples of both cars and pick the one you like.
