As previously stated. The knock sensor is there to help the engine detect detonation. If detonation is detected, it will PULL timing. Thereby reducing power. Some people don't like them. You will have more power with it unwired than wired. It's just dangerous as hell. The supra has two of them and I love them both except when I'm losing.
