Ok now, YES you can make a Mini-me setup with a CX bottem end. The great thing about the CX bottem end compared to the old HF CRX bottem end is that the CX comes with 16 valve dished pistons, instead of the much smaller 8 valve pistons from the HF. You must use a 92-95 VX timing belt, 92 si/ex head gasket, remove the oil control Jet, and use a 92dx or 92si/ex intake manifold with the Z6 FPR (fuel pressure regualtor), and highly reccomend using a Si/EX harmonic balancer(Crank pulley) to save the life of your Main and rod bearings. Then you have to find a suitable ECU, of course with a 92+ you have the great pleasure of being able to use a P28, which is nice. But for a car like mine('91 CRXsi) I had to use a PWO ECu from a B16 because I didnt want to wire up a cheap ghetto RPM switch. Then I had to re-route the 2nd O2 sensor and wire up some VTEC, its all good fun though. I built my motor just right too, almost perfect actually, it has a great power band which lets me rev safely to 8000 RPMS!!! and also, have you ever actually heard a single cam HIT VTEC? Mine hits it nice and hard, It makes me mad though because I invested in a B16 3 months ago and It'll be here on a container ship in a week. But guess what, Im getting the same amount of torque to the wheels as a B16a would, and my single cam is so much lighter that the power getting to the wheels almost comes out to equal a B16 powered CRX. But in the end, I know I'll be more satisfied with the B16a.
Sorry for the book I wrote, but if anyone needs any tips or anything on Mini-me's n such, hit me up on AIM or something...
