If your problem is related more to oil pressure or the lack thereof which is starving the lifters of oil as described in your link, then "helping" the oil up into the heads will address the problem somewhat.

However if the engine is not holding oil pressure because the lifters themselves are damaged, there's not much you can do to help them short of buying new ones. They run about 35 to 40 bucks a pop and there are 12 of em in each head.
