I would presume what kfar09 is suggesting is a performance build rather than a simple OE-spec rebuild.

Prices range the whole gamut.

If you're just looking to replace the motor you can usually find good cores from salvage yards for relatively cheap. Plus you don't have the turnaround time of pulling out the motor that's in the car, doing the work on it, and putting it back in.
