Right, I was about to mention that the rod ends need 1 mm machined off each side around where the piston pin goes through them. I believe that's also the case with B17 rods, not sure about B18A/B ones.
Along with what you mentioned about the clearance issues, for those who are unaware the CTR uses a B18C block with a shortened stroke hence why it doesn't have issues with the piston-to-deck clearance.
