$1000 isn't that much for her damages. If she has one of the plastic bumpers, it runs around $450 to repaint and fix. If she went to the hospital to get checked out, that's another $700. Personally, it sounds like she did what needed to be done.

My future wife's mom rear ended a truck and put a one inch scratch in the front bumper of her new Grand Prix and the body shop wanted $565 to fix it. That's just repaint of the scratch.

I went to the hospital once when I sprained my ankle and it cost about $1400 for a couple of x-rays, an air splint, and a pair of crutches. I was there for about 1 hour. Hell, the ER doctor said I needed to call the connected clinic for a follow-up exam the next day. Just for her to tell me that was $65.

Shit's not cheap. You got off easy!!!
