With a 2001, I like the look of 18s. However, you may have more trouble with them, mainly because of the 35 series tires youd have to buy to fit the wheel well. If you live or drive on roads with any potholes, youre screwed. I have replaced a rim and sent another off to get the bends taken out of it. However, I put a lot of miles on mine. It is a longer car than the 4th gen, so the 18" rims set it off better than 17s would. But, thats just my opinion.
