WEll, I'm back from Daytona.
Bad experience while going there. 50 miles from starting and I heard a strange noise of something flapping against the underhood. Pulled over to an exit, pop it open and found that the powersteering belt got stripped off piece by piece on the side. ALMOST BROKEN.
Asked some gas station attendance, and drove anoher 25 miles to find a pepboy. It's the nearest local autopart store that might have the belt in stock. Waited 30 mins for them to open, ran in, had the guy check all over the stock room and found the only one left.
Ran out to my car and changed it. Luckily that I brought my tool box along. **phew** Everything run fine for the rest of the trip.
Cause: The power steering fluided spilt all over place last Friday due to the threshold hose broken. I replaced the hose last Friday, before the trip, but did not clean the oil carefully.
NOTE: ALWAYS CLEAN OFF EXCESSIVE OIL SPILL IN THE BELTS TO PREVENT THEM FROM BEING OVERHEAT AND STRIPPED OFF.
