Well I went ahead and tried it... it definitely helped on the scratches, many many less scratches, but there are tiny tiny little dimples left from the spraypaint that disturb the clearness of the plastic. Maybe I just didn't put enough coats on or good quality spray paint, I put 4 coats on, getting progressively thicker as I go on, and used a 99 cents can of Krylon clear spraypaint from Kmart. This paint worked oh so well on my tailights, but headlights are a different story. I just bought some 1000 grit sand paper to try again and I will post results as soon as I try.
