I found at least three of the intake valves were on the tight side. I adj them and also at least 3 to 4 others that were somewhat loose. The engine is running nice and smooth now but when the engine is hot I still here some tapping when in PARK and raising the rpms.
My local dealer does not know what is causing the noise...possible main or rod bearing play. Maybe when the car was built they didn't use the correct bearing clearances? ...just like the valve adjustments were not correct? Can a valve tighten up with age....113000 miles?
