My last set was over a year old by the time I sold the car, no burnouts. The one burnout I know of was a couple year old, frequently used bulb.
The yellower a light is, the more useful it will be in bad weather.
Which, unfortunately, only half explains those piss-yellow fogs people leave on all the time.
