I'm getting sick of "event tv." The networks are so focused on building up one particular timeslot's ability to sell advertising they resort to every trick in the book to get as many people addicted as possible. It's not even just the reality shows--look at all the hype around the final episode of Sex and the City, or the way NBC promotes the crap out of every single new Friends episode as if it's the most important thing in your life.
