The US wanted that President to stay in office.

The US has always backed any democratic president or leader in those area's. We've always thought it to be in our, and their, best interest; and we do now.

The reason we asked him to leave though, is because the situation was growing so violent because of his mere-leadership, due to the people's distaste for him, that we thought it would be better to have him leave the country and the people put another democratic leader of choice in office.

Frankly, right now, we don't know what will happen or who will come into power; but what we did know was that leaving him in office (even if we support him) was detremental to the stability of the country.

The US should not intervene in Haiti. The UN should send PeaceKeepers, which will include US servicemen and that's fine; but only for the purpose of upholding law while a new Government is started. The US should however, send in Marines to protect it's assets in the region, which it is doing now.
