Ok everyone this is a new one on me.
Cruzin about 75 when I came to a town and had to slow for a 45 limit. By the time I slowed to 45 the motor died still in gear. Car was running good til it died. Pulled into a station and tried to start. Motor spins freely as in no compression. Tow the car home. Cap and rotor are damaged so I get new parts. This may not be related and it certainly made no diff as it still spins like no compression.
With the cap off I turn the motor and the dist is not turning.
Pull the valve cover. Everything looks fine. Belt is tight.
Turn the motor, cams and belt does not turn.
Pulled the upper portion of the belt cover. The belt appears to be in good condition and is not loose.
This is as far as I have gotten. The crank pully including the p/s, a/c, and alt belts still turn with the motor.
Motor is a 96 B20b in a 91 teg. Everything is stock to the car except the motor itself. If you could not ID a B20b then you would think the car was stock.
Before I get in there anyone have a clue what I am going to find or what I should be looking for?
