1. No, the zinc plating in galvanized steel would burn off over time, hence the nickel alloys used in "mild steel"- that help slow rusting dramatically, but don't effectively prevent it.

2. Stainless steel is very durable, much more so than "mild steel" in terms of rust prevention, and is used in the majority of high-end headers and catbacks.

3. That price isn't too bad, IMO. But I'm not familar with the MSRP on that intake..h:
