I think Christianity through its insistence on a strict interpretation of the bible on issues such as creationism, has set up a conflict between science and people that understand science have a tendency to fight back.
All I'm saying is that not everyone that is willing to believe that creation as explained in the bible is stuck on an exact literal following of the words on the page.
