In the beginning your statement would hold true. But after a few months on the sales floor, dealers started to become aware of the increasing unpopularity of the EP3. I heard in some instances dealers were letting them go simply to free lot space for $13-14 K!
Now with the official word from Honda Motor Co. that the current EP3 format will cease to exist. Beyond the producation year 2004. The price will only further decrease when the new Si is announced.
In my humble opinion, baechoo...wait till the next generation Si debuts. Power is supposed to be increased, possibly by implanting the k20a2 from factory, and will come in coupe form.
Unless you're partial to hatchbacks and want the reliability of a new car, I would wait.
Otherwise, if you don't want to wait, like the styling of the current EP3, and are satisfied with its current performance. I say definately go for it. You can pick it up for a fantastic price, the engine is better than any previous years Si, (IMO) the k-series is beginning to overshadow any B-series before it. Turbo kits and superchargers are readily available for it now, styling can be MUCH improved with the available aftermarket, and its new car HONDA reliability for a great price IMO.
