If you turned them in 'too far' when you put new pads in, they'll self-adjust. But it takes LOTS of times applying the handbrake lever. Now that you've tightened the cable, it might get too tight. Just keep watching it. After another few days, lift the back of the car & make sure the brakes aren't dragging. If they start dragging, you may have to loosen the cable a bit. The only danger is if you DON'T pay attention, & let the brakes keep dragging...
