hey guys,

i was wondering if anyone could help...i bought a used 98 gsr that has had its engine swapped twice...first engine was a 1.6L from a civic SI and the current engine is from a 99 4dr gsr and the ecu is a p72-a04

the problem is that i dont feel/hear the vtec kick in when i step on the gas...it redlines at 8000 like its supposed to, but i dont feel a difference at all when the rpms get to 8000...its exactly the same throughout...

i also have a 95 gsr and when the vtec on that one kicks in, i can definitely feel the difference...

all the wires have been checked and there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with the connections...i asked my friend and he said something about "limp mode"? but im not sure how to check (or disable?) that

the vin of the car is: JH4DC2385WS004188

and the vin of the engine is: JH4DB8596XS000583

dunno if having those numbers will help
