Nightwish and After Forever apply the dual vocals very well. Actually After Forever is probably one of the best dual vocal bands out there. Paradise Lost is probably one of the heaviest bands out there with some of the cleanest vocals along with Solitude Aeternus. Bastardized is an obscure Singaporean death metal band that has some really nice melodies. If you are looking for very good melodic interludes listen to some symphonic bands like Sonata Arctica, Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, etc.
