Stock you have "sort of" an intake already, or you should have:

The plastic pipe that comes off of the air cleaner housing goes down beside the headlight on the grille. It's pretty pointless, and removing the housing to add a hose from the carb to the fenderwell won't do anything other than mean you have to start using a more expensive filter.

This is a better carb: http://www.carbs.net/images/weber/32...tric_Choke.jpg which can be found in conversion kit K725 here, and will have these kinds of air filters [for the 36/38 DGV/DGEV carbs].

This is more intake than you'll ever need on that engine :

But that's real pricey.
