the only people that i've seen that experienced hydrolock did
NOT come across that problem because they went for a drive on a snowy/rainy/etc... day and their filter got wet

to get hydrolock you have to do something along the lines of "go for a drive in a lake" the bypass valve is just some shit AEM and other companies can market to the people that've heard those horror stories. the bottom line is that if you don't drive in lakes and ponds you generally don't have anything to worry about with a CAI.
