Help -- does this thing have a CD changer port or not (the one on the left)?
I've been pulling my hair out trying to get a solution for hooking up an ipod and / or XM radio to my car. See:
Swapping radios between 98 and 01 EX?
Someone suggested autotoys for a solution. I wrote them and they said their product would work:
My written question to them:
Notes: I want to plug my iPod (and maybe XM Radio) into my car stereo. My
car is a 2001 Honda Accord EX that features the double-din head unit with
in-dash 6 disc CD changer, tape and AM/FM. Repeat -- it's all one unit in
the dash, not an external CD changer. To see a picture of it see this

one on the left.
Will your HONDAMP3 adapter work for this? I am not sure that I have an
external port for CD changer since it is built in.
Their response:
I'm not sure I believe them. I recall learning that my deck does not have any port that would make it compatible. Think I even checked with blitzsafe.
Autotoys does show a picture of a deck with a Bose emblem on the tape deck and a built-in 6 disk changer that is working with their adapter. Problem with that is I don't think it's a Honda deck, since I don't know of Honda using any Bose branded stuff.
So, can anyone clear the air for me? Have you handled one of these decks. Seen the plugs on the back? Got PICS! ??
I'd love to believe them and order the item, but I'd rather have better assurance one way or another before ordering (and / or tearing the radio out of my dash first, which I'm about ready to do)
