any reason to not run 1 amp to your subs and another high wattage 4 channel for mids/highs? wouldnt it save a lot of wiring, time, room and money instead of having 4 amps?
A few reasons actually....
1. I need at least 8 channels of amplification because my system is all active. So a 4 channel and then a single amp for the sub wouldn't work for me
2. Systems that use horns need to be properly power matched. If you send too much power to your horns, your mids will never keep up. By setting up my power structure in this manner, the system will blend better.
3. This setup allows me to use the most of my H700
4. I think it just plain looks cool
5. This combo of amps puts me in the 1-600 power class in IASCA - any more power and I will be in the 601+ where I will be giving up a lot of power to others
Needless to say, you are correct in saying that I would have been able to save a lot of wiring and headaches!
