Edit: Escort makes a unit called a shifter, I forget the model number but it's something like Z3 or X3 or some overused letter:number combo. I read an independent review of it on radartest.com and it successfully jammed 99% of the laser. Five different guns. Another review stated 95%. Laser is one of those things where once you know you've been hit, just go ahead and pull over, so at $250 (I think that was the price) which is about the cost of a 20 over ticket on the interstate (where laser is more common) is probably a decent investment, and it sure would impress friends.

Yes, I looked into that. The ZR3 laser shifter. It's quite a sophistocated system (and expensive: $499.99 plus installation - which ain't gonna be cheap either because the defusers have to be custom installed into your front and rear bumpers). There's 2 front and 1 rear defusers, a control module, and the system display (which can be integrated into my 8500 I found out as well ). The package seems to be the real deal from all the reviews I read, but I just hate the thought of people cutting and chopping into my bumper (the fronts can be mounted in the grille). And to add to it, you're at about 3 tickets after you've had it installed, and unless your last name is Schumacher, Earnhardt, or Gordon, you're just not going to get enough tickets from laser to justify the cost and hassle of installation.
