Absolutely not! All you have to do is adjust the two nuts that hold the throttle cable in the bracket at the TB. You would back the nuts off in effect backing the throttle cable up and making it mor tense and responsive.
You DO NOT want it overly tight though to where it is actually holding the throttle open. Just tighten it so that there is no slack.
