Not necessarily, bugs are low end rides, lots of torque out of the hole, good traction because they are RWD with the motor and transaxle out back. Lots of low end torque means quick off the line, unless they have a significant amount of head work and HD valve springs, they peter out above 5500 RPM. I have driven bugs that will run 12's, but won't go much over 100 mph due to gearing and the limited rev thing. 1800 lbs plus 200 hp equals some eye popping acceleration
