He does a long freeway commute. His comment was, "If 5th gear was worn out, I'd say okay, my bad" but he drives very sedately around town, and spends 95% of his time going 75 on the open road. The dealer is being kinda crappy about it too. If it were me, I would get it fixed and ditch the car, but he is a little more confrontational. He had about 300k miles on his 92 VX before he gave it to his mother(He wants it back for a hybrid when she is done with it, so no it is not goig to be for sale) and was super bummed that the new civic seems to have a manufacturing defect
