Default Accord vs. Taurus, part two, and the winner is...

...the Accord... you don't think I post here if it wasn't

98 Accord EX with leather, 4 cylinder, 2 local owners, local trade (for a Hummer), excellent condition, 110,000 miles, $6,400. The picture doesn't do it justice, it was taken the day before they detailed it.

The Taurus's never felt right. I was looking for price, not quality. That's what we found. The last Taurus we drove was a 98 with 72,000 miles. It looked good and clean at first. Parked at the front of the VW dealers lot. The dashboard was slightly separating from the instrument panel. The volume control on the radio worked, but no other radio buttons or tape buttons worked. "Oh, we'll get that fixed for you...". Otherwise that car was OK. But, after driving Hondas for years you get used to the crisp feel.

Even with the high miles we're confident that car will last forever, or until we get tired of it, whichever comes first. If you're looking for a similar Accord let me say that leather makes all the difference. The two cars feel completely different even though that's the ONLY difference. Just ask my wife. When she was driving a normal EX with cloth she really couldn't believe me when I told her that that was the only difference.

So, we've now got his and her's Honda Accords. Thanks for all the advice in my previous threads.
